Born Giovanni Calone in Naples, Italy - Massimo Ranieri emerged in 1966 at the age of 15 making his TV singing debut with ‘Bene Mio’. In 1969, he became a teen idol with ‘O Sole Mio’ on live TV with girls screaming in the background in every TV appearance which followed. In 1970, he added acting to his creative ambitions.
With a long list of famous songs since his 1960s emergence in Italy - in 1988 he won 1st prize in the San Remo music festival with ‘Perdere L’Amore’.
An icon and representing an era and generation of Italian music, as well as memories for many, it is with pleasure that Federico Fuoco (F2 Productions Inc.) brings MASSIMO RANIERI to Vancouver on May 9th 2018.
For immigrant parents who came to Vancouver in the early 1960s and who have watched him perform on TV - both in song and acting - this would be an amazing gift of nostalgia given it has been over 25 years since he last visited Vancouver. With Mother's Day around the corner - it would be a great Mother's Day gift too.
This will be a beautiful and memorable evening for Vancouver’s Italian community. A gifted artist and an amazing showman, one could not write the story of Italian music without including Massimo Ranieri!
